Every year, new technology enabled startups from all around the world are selected for Google Business Group (GBG) Stories Search. This year three new startups from Nepal made it to the top 9 in the list. All there startups were started not just for business growth and profit gain, rather to provide a positive impact the society and environment

Here is the List of TOP THREE STARTUPS FROM NEPAL THAT MADE IT TO GBG STORIES SEARCH 2017:

 

1. Eco Cell Industries Nepal:
With an vision to become the “pioneer company that produces ecological sustainable construction material in Nepal ", Eco cell industries introduced the interlocking brick building technique. After the earthquake in 2015, Nepal was in need of cheap and strong construction material that could replace the temporary tents. Eco cell’s brick are affordable, environmentally- friendly, and resilient against earthquakes. Since many of the earthquake affected areas were not accessible by roadways, the team of Eco Cell came up with a great idea of producing the bricks locally, wherever necessary.

2. Khaalisisi:
This startup aims to "partner with the local khaalisisi friends (waste collector) to bring a revolution in the recycling industry in Nepal, and make the country a zero-waste nation." The company helps to establish a connection between waste sellers and waste entrepreneurs for an efficient mobilization of recyclable trash. Khaalisisi supports 94 waste collectors and entrepreneurs in Kathmandu, with the increase of 20 - 30% of their monthly income.

3. Khalti.com:
The startup aims to drive Nepal towards cashless economy, Khalti is a "digital wallet for instant, secure and hassle-free online payments in Nepal."  Rather than working as a private individual company, Khalti hopes to enable other service providers and vendors by building the necessary APIs to securely connect them to banking and financial institution in the nation and beyond. This startup helps users to use cash-less banking services with their fingertips using the khalti app. It provides various services like: mobile top up, airline and movie ticketing, bank-to-wallet/wallet-to-wallet/wallet-to-bank fund transfer and more.
